We had 36 units on site and if you weren't there you missed "a very happy Christmas". Christmas Eve was
rather wet and windy (due to the sausage rolls) but we all got sited and settled in ready for the big day.
On Christmas Day the site was a hive of industry. The Panto stage was set up, rehearsals got under-way, the
dining room was laid out and then the food preparation began. It was a mammoth task mainly because we had
no access to the premises until Saturday morning. Everything had to be completed by 6.30pm - and it was.
At 6.30pm we all arrived to be greeted with a glass of wine and nicely decorated dining room. The buffet meal
was superb, cold turkey and ham and a good selection of salads and gateaux. Well done Viv and all
your helpers.
After our meal we all tripped off to the gym for the Panto. A little bit of a slow start but once the curtain finally
folled back, it was a DDA classic. We saw a few members of the DA as we've never seen them before. Old
Rolf Harris and his band gave us a very entertaining interval. It was all good family fun. Three cheers to Jayne
and all those who took part in and set up the Panto.
On Sunday many of our visitors came to see us before leaving thanking us (the DDA) for a lovely weekend and
saying how they enjoyed spending Christmas with us, so...
.... Thank you once again ALL you merry little workers for making our Australian Christmas a great success.
